I know you not asking for advice, but.. get that camera and lens in there and focus on the water drop. F/11 to F/22 will work. Love the color of your flowers, would like to see a photo taken at your MWD. You would blow these shots out of here if you get closer.

I thought I was working at the MFD or very close to it. The camera was only 6 or 7 inches from the drop with the tube I can't focus any closer. I'm going to use the rail and try some more today instead of hand held. The wood skewer holding the drip is 1/8" in diameter. I tried to focus on the image inside the drip rather then the water itself.

Sorry I thought from the size of the downloads these were just crops of your actual photos. I'm having the best luck with manual focus. I crank my lens all the way out and just move in till focused. This also places me at my closes focusing distance. I also find it's rather hard to see inside of the drops. As I get within focusing distance I get the image as sharp as I can/still a little blurry and fire the shutter. The main lens closing down/when I push the shutter button/ actually brings the focus in more than I'm seeing. I also can tell that the Flatter the subject the better the over all focus. You have to worry about DOF Inside of the water drop also

I know what you are saying. I'm having trouble with the same things. Even on the sliding rail mount I can't see the DOF like after the shutter is tripped. I tried live view with better success. I would send it in higher res but the site kicked them out @ 1200x 500. I don't know if that is a glitch that is temporary. Here is the result after the rail mount. This is at 100mm manual focus. Still having problems with the hot spot in the drip. I'm working on that.

Now your talking, I can see. looking pretty good. I think we have to be careful comparing to some of the stuff we see on the net. Lots of these are stacked. And if you look close some of the shots don't even have distortion from the shape of the drop. How do you get a Flat photo inside of a circular drop with out photo shopping it in.

I had some problems getting the water drop to get a full round shape without falling off the stick. My new secret, it's not water at all. I used super glue and it stays clear for quite a while.
