Don't know how I found UHH, but so glad I did. Just getting serious about photography and know so little. I have a Canon 60D and three canon lenses: EFS18-135 IS, 50mm 1.8, and EFS 55-250 4-5.6. I'm trying to get away from auto mode but find myself falling back to it. Here are two pictures I took while hiking at North Rim Grand Canyons. First is the original, second the one I played with in PSE9. All suggestions welcomed!!

Welcome! I'm originally from Tampa ( where I still live ) but spent @ 10 years in Atlanta ( Emory Univ. Orthopedics ) - still love Atlanta.

Keep posting photos and asking for suggestions or just post photos for fun.

Welcome. Lots of good information and help here. Like your first photo, the second is a bit dark for my taste. If you have more from N. Rim, would love to see them.

Hi Sylvia, welcome to the hog. You are using a great camera, I also have a 60D. Its been all the way through Israel with me. I have to admit though i was just learning how to use it also. Anyhow, your first picture came out real good. If you are playing around with ps9 i would suggest making the tree trunk just a tad lighter to contrast with everything else. The second picture is way to dense for detail, but if you wanted to do a silhouette, you did succeed.....keep shooting and posting. We love it.
