This type of photography is fairly easy to do, however I am not saying that getting this guys results are easy.. I know that if you really want to make them impressive that dropping dyed water into milk and tricks like that make them more impressive. You can do this with a setup as simple as a sandwich bag hung over a bowl of water, that the more interesting the bowl and backdrop the more interesting the shot as the bowl and the backdrop will influence the reflective hue of the water and are refracted in the drops.
This is were the Reduced Flash power gets the best results.
