This was quite obliging, right up until the wife walked in and seen me getting all up close and personal, took all my efforts to save it and send it to the great outdoors thus avoiding the sole of the wifes slipper.

Still good to get some shots of something alive.

The shape of the pedipalps indicate that this is the male of the specie. The female would be larger. http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedipalp

Nice face portrait. What camera/lens? Is your narrow DoF a result of existing light capture, dictating a large aperture?

Forgot to add details, added now, will be playing again with setup, I wasn't getting great results at f16 initially, but have picked up bracket to try and position flash better.

What camera/lens/speedlight? Are you using a softbox, or other illumination diffuser?

Pentax K-r, Tamron 90mm, Yongnuo YN-560II flash, with beer can diffuser, sheet of paper towel (seemes to be popular and effective)
