I'm not very good, but I do enjoy taking pictures. I have a Nikon D3100 mainly use a Tamron 70-300m f/4-5.6. Any lessons you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I also have D3100. Still learning. Got a book off the bay "D3100" by Davis bucsh (sp). Answered a lot of questions for me. I have acquired 3 lens. My fav., is a 35mm F/1.8

Love all of the pictures. I jave been thinking of picking up the Tamron lens you used. It looks like it takes quality pics for the money.

I got it to take pictures of my kids in sports. The 300mm brings them in close. Only drawback is the f/4-5.6. The football games are at night and I have to crank up the ISO because I'm using a fast shutter to freeze the action.

Practice, practice, practice.

You are off to a great start.

If I could suggest one thing about composition.
In the seagul image, it might look better if you had more space in front of the bird.
Notice how much space you have behind the bird and how much in front. More in front would give the impression that the subject has a reason to be looking/facing/headed in that direction.
Just a thought.
Thanks for sharing the images.
