Sony HVL-F43AM Flash

I just received one of these for use with my Sony A65. Other than reading the manual (which I have done), do any of you have suggestions or comments regarding this flash? I should mention that I really prefer natural light as much as possible, however, there have been several times when I could have used an appropriate fill flash.

Got one for Christmas, used but like new. Manual came in French, which is something of a problem, as my French may as well be Greek. The flash was highly recommended by Gary Friedman in his ebooks on the Alpha series, so you might give a look to the appropriate book for his discussion on use. He devotes a chapter or two on that topic.
