Chrysis inaequidens
Canon 5D mkII at ISO 160, Canon MPE 65-mm macro lens, 1/200-sec at f/13, Canon MT 24 EX dual speedlight illumination.
Photographed indoors on a laminated piece of white wood, about 1-ft wide by 2-ft long. Wasp released unharmed, the next day.
I have the honor of being the first to submit photographs of this species to bugguide.
also i am retiring my nikon d5100 from macro shooting and having it converted to 720nm infrared. it served me well. all my new macro shots will be with canon.

What a stunning colour. I know beetles come is a variety of colours, some of which match this wasp, but I never knew there as a wasp species as bright as this. Beautiful!
I want my car painted that color. Great photo.
Never seen one of these...Nice shot, thanks for posting :-)
I really enjoy your work and the results you get with that lens. The colored beaded look in the download picture is just beautiful.
