Thank you. I like the flexibility HDR provides, but am not real keen on some of the images people produce using it; I prefer realistic images.

Very nice photos and as I do love black and white photos, I think your second photo would have looked more dramatic in color. But you did a great job on all the photos. I've never seen so many bumble bees in one place! Great capture!

sinatraman, yah sure you betcha, eh!, and thank you. I like your Bridge shot; very unique. I recently got Nik software's Silver Efex Pro 2, and really like the results. Since you are familiar with Michigan, here's another image you might appreciate; Lower Tahquemenon Falls, captured about 2 a.m. under a full moon several years ago with a Rebel XT and process with Silver Efex Pro 2.

Image Details:
Canon 100-300, 180mm, 906 sec, f/20, ISO 200

Beautiful work. I like HDR as long as it is not overdone. HDR is great but too many people overdo it to the point that it doesn't look natural. Yours is an example of how it should be done. Love it!!!

The T falls is just a beautiful shot...I've seen them during the day years ago..but never at 2 a.m. in the morning. What some photographers won't do for a great pic huh? Love it. Keep up the great work and keep on posting!

Robert, Sugarpenny, tj, thank you.
Sugarpenny, I like B&W a lot, also, especially clouds, and felt the color distracted on this one. I've never seen so many bumblebees in one place either; they all decided to sleep on the same plant.
tj, HDR is short for High Dynamic Range; you capture at least 3 images at different exposures, in this case 2 stops apart (note shutter speeds) and use software to blend them into one image that has more dynamic range (difference from lightest to darkest values) than a camera can capture in one image.

Kathyin NH, thank you; that was my goal.
Sugar penny, thank you; I was up all night 2 nights in a row, learning on the fiorst night and applying it the second night, and got 1 good image. But I have a unique one.
