Was excited to find this forum. Getting back into (amature) photography after a long hiatus; more than 10 years. Started out with a Minolta XG1 and then converted to digital with Sony came out with the Maciva (spelling?). Then last week my cousin mentioned she would love to learn photography so I jumped back in. We are taking a class in a couple of weeks. I just purchased a Canon T4i and am almost overwhelmed by it. Looking forward to learning lots on this forum!
Welcome to UHH, post some before(class) and after you start.

Welcome Art!!! You picked a great site. Lots of good folks hang out here. And they are all full of help if you need it. Just ask and we will all jump in. Don't let your camera worry you. It is like any thing else, you will grow into it. There are lots of books on your camera. And most of the read a lot easyer than the manual that came with it. Have fun and keep us updated on how the classes are going. :)

Have a great day from san antonio
Same as I was overwhelmed by marriage when I started. Now after 3 wives and 5 kids, the beratings, silent times and brow beating have me enjoying life.

Hi artwrkz, welcome to the hog, both you and your cousin. You both will have a lot of fun here, making friends, asking questions, posting pictures...

Welcome to the UHH- from Utah. I've been to South Carolina once. My son graduated from N.G. Army Basic Training at Fort Jackson. I loved Columbia. Want to go back sometime. Some very beautiful places around there: parks, zoo, gardens, rivers, the city center, etc.
Welcome! have fun in your classes and don't stop reading and looking here, lots to learn!
