Just took this tonight of some little icicles on a ewe bush in front of my house. I thought it was fun. ;)
Icicles
It is a pretty cool shot. I just wish you had a greater DOF so the icicles at the bottom rear were in focus also.
Thanks for looking T.A.
This one is a crop and its hand held, so I think there is a little movement in it also (probably shivering). I just went out with the camera and my LED light panel. I took this with my D700 at ISO-400, 1/40 sec. f2.8 with my 35-70mm lens (one of my favorites). I didnt spend more than about 30 seconds to take two photos then go back in.
I dont think its supposed to get above freezing today so I could try it again tonight, stopped down with a tripod, maybe use the 55 micro. Perhaps I will even put a coat on this time so I can spend more time at it.
I think it is very pretty. The icicles look like they are dripping and it gives you a feeling of how cold it was.
Love the clarity of the close ones and the color and contrast.

That cold, eh? Lol. The only thing that I would suggest is that you try ISO 1600 so that you can bump your shutter speed up some. The d7000 can handle it. You may even be able to up the F stop a notch.

Thanks Shelley! :) It was below freezing so there was no dripping. They formed from water dripping off the roof durring the day when the sun melted it. I took some in the day time too but I like the lit night shot best.

Thanks Linda, I did boost mid-tone contrast a bit. ;)
Took this one tonight 1/15/13:
Used my 55 micro, f16, 1/2 second exposure, ISO 200 with my D700 again. No adjustments to this one.
Fun to look at the download. ;)
More little icicles
Same settings as previous shot.
Look at the download to see what the old 55micro f2.8 lens can do on a D700.
A little wider shot
