I found #12 fascinating.
My wife came from a family of 5 girls and she told me her mother would make dresses for all of the daughters out of whatever cloth was available, so there were 5 of everything in various sizes.
Something I did not see, railroad refer cars being iced.
I remember seeing that once or twice as a kid.
Did enjoy the pictures. Of the 72 pictures, they were mostly pictures of Caucasians shown having a good time, working and otherwise in positive situations. Saw about ten of blacks of which only three seem positive. Saw none of American Indians, none of Asians and maybe one of Hispanics on the side lines. Must have been a white photographer, just like the news media in 2013. When will we learned the true diversification of our country? When will we acknowledge that one ethnicity did not build this great country alone? Don't hate the messenger. Enjoy the pictures.

IMO the pictures are what they are - a reflection of the times. So what you mentioned above is how it was in those times.
Really great to look back, thanks for post.

Only about 45 of the photos feature people where race can be be determined. 14 of those photographs feature black folk's. That's what 26%? at the time black people represented about 10 to 12% of the US population. Black people are indeed well represented in the selection of photographs. The FSA photographers featured were pretty progressive bunch. None of them are black however, two were women and 4 were Jewish.
