Not sure when this would have been built, but you can tell there was a lot of time and skill going into a place to worship in the New World. thanks for sharing.

From Kiev, Ukraine and a small village outside of Kiev on our trip to adopt our boys in 2005 (we were missionaries there in 94...before digital cameras...I only took 4 rolls of film!)

Such intricate work on the building of #1. I have always loved the curves and domes of the churches like #2--Russian Orthodox?. Beautiful. thanks for sharing.

It's a museum now although they let some Ukrainian orthodox and Greek catholic things go on there but yes, built in the 10-1200s. Some amazing old structures in Ukraine. I love the onion tops gilded in gold. Kiev has 3 or 4 amazing HUGE structures along with several dozen beautiful smaller churches.

Really interesting architecture. would really like to see what those columns look like up close.


I was there last wk but didn't get any evening shots...this is pretty.
