the rain stopped for a minute,its 38out there.i guess this is a baby harvestman,i have never seen one this small.the whole thing is about dime size.i also found a globular springtail.thats all i saw.tom

maybe,but these springtails are so small they are very hard to shoot and these are my best so far.tom

Your first springtail above is exceptional. My only complaint is the added color-cast from the wall. I would so much like to see similar photography on a more neutral-colored matrix, or a more natural setting. I suggest building a very small, outdoor, tabletop studio for shooting in the sunlight, or similar lighting as above.

i think that is the color they are. here is one on a board and one on the edge of my hat.

I do also. These are impressive--not something I am familiar with. According to Bug guide they are about 2mm in size. I don't know if you've submitted these there, but yours have much better detail. The images on that site were from Seattle, so perhaps I can find some here in Portland. What is their habitat? Did you find these out in the open?

these live in leaf litter,they are very small so you have to look good.they get on my fence and eat algea and poop.so far i havent seen any other globular springtails on this board but i think they live just about anywhere theres damp places for them.tom

i dont think this is what you are thinking of.with the naked eye you cant see any legs or antenna just a black dot.tom

now i see them on small trees and planter boxes and on my fence of course.they dont come out if its to hot.i mostly see them between 45 and 60 degrees.they also dont it dry.so far around here i only see them in the winter.tom
