Does anyone have any info on new cameras for any manufacturer coming out in the spring...I am interested in a superzoom with good low light capability...I have tried the canon sx50 and the Nikon p510 but am still on the hunt...We are going to Alaska this summer and need a new camera...I can use many of the features of these cameras but am really an amateur...I would consider a mirror less Dslr as well but the compact ones...
Panasonic are bringing out some new compacts soon. I'll be having a very close look at the one that will be selling in the UK as the TZ35. 20x optical zoom, latest generation CMOS sensor and what sounds like a good selection of modes. The TZ40 is much the same but with wifi and near field technology built in.

Those two cameras are probibly the best super zooms avalible.
I currently have two Panasonic cameras, and I was looking to answer your question. In the process I ran across the following web site and now I am seriously looking at the new Panasonic DMC ZS19. For your info check out this site:
http://shop.panasonic.com/shop/model/DMC-ZS19KIt is small and a pretty nice camera, check out

Canon has a 50X lens and Nikon has a 42X lens. Both have cmos sensors giving them good low light capabilites.
Fuji has a new superzoom offering.

The Finepix HS50, also the SL1000 (both bridge cameras).
The HS50 sounds the more impressive of the two.
Get a Nikon D600.....The spots thing is just about over. It's an awesome full frame. You will love it!

There is a new Fuji out soon HS50, as the name implies it has a 50x zoom, also exceptional short focus time
check it out, should be a step up from Fuji hs30 which is brilliant
Look at an Olympus camera; the latest has a 40X zoom. I have an Olympus SP800UZ with a 30X ultrazoom. Yes it is a P&S--but it has a plethora of programs and options. It will also focus down to an inch or so. I have been taking pix for 50+ years...and it suits me. Oh--and it sells for around $300. I recommend it for the general shooter. I have won some blue ribbons with it. Alyn

Have a look at the Panasonic FZ-200. It is great in low light, as it is f/2.8 throughout the entire zoom and goes from 25-600mm. It will also do macro from 1 cm if you click the tab on the lens. I have one, took it the Galapagos and was really pleased with it.

Look at the Olympus OMD EM5 with the Water resistant Zoom lens and a piece of long glasss + the Zuiko 12mm/f2.0 and you're kitted out for Alaska---especially in the sometimes very damp conditions as the body is sealed to at least try to preclude moisture entry

go to popphoto.com The Consumer Electronic Show in Vegas just ended. many new cameras were announced. popphoto should have a report.
Check out the Panasonic FZ200. Arguably the Best Superzoom Bridge camera available today. I still use my FZ50 and love it -- my next camera will be the FZ200 unless Panasonic comes out with something to better it. Its fantastic Leica Lens has f/2.8 throughout its normal 24X zoom so it beats all others in low light shooting - complete for less than $500. (It also sports two additional zoom modes taking you to 48X!)
