Gene - Thanks for your comments. I'm heading back to the Upper Mississippi area on Tuesday to do some Eagle viewing and hopefully will get some "keeper" pics.
I have picked up a lot of good information for this site and hope to apply it in the field. Regards, Tom
Where on the Upper Miss were the swans?
We have plenty of bald eagles along the open water downstream of the nuclear plant in Red Wing, and at the eagle center in Wabasha, MN.
Roy, The Swans annually gather during the late Fall about 15-20 miles South of the I-90 bridge at LaCrosse. The best place to see & photograph them is in a town is on the MN side and it's called Brownsville. There are pull offs/overlooks along M26.
I'll be going to Prairie du Chein, WI, La Crosse, WI, Wabasha, MN
(stopping at the National Eagle Center) and Alma, WI on my trip this week.
Thanks for the tip, if I get that far north, I'll check out the area around the Power Plant in Red Wing.
Thanks, Tom
