Does anyone have experience with; "buyherephoto.com"
Very good prices on some Canon products: 60D - $539.00;
24-105mm L IS @800.00...all with USA warranty and free shipping. 7D at $1029.00
p.s. I did look on-line at reviews f or "buy here..." All bad, bait & switch is the common theme, long delivery, substitution of Canon non-USA imports for advertised item.

"If it sounds too good to be true..." That's awfully low for a 60D. The list price for the 24-105 is $1100. There's no way that's a legit site. Steer clear.
If you Google them, you'll see they're a typical Bait and Switch operation - the camera / lens you want is never in stock but they have an even better deal for just a bit more money..

by federal law a product distributor can not offer diffent prices to different sellers for the same product.(at least with automobiles.) where the mass volume stores get their discount is on credit terms for buying the merchandise. for example every retailer who buys a nikon d-3 pays the same wholesale price for them, so their retailm price should be within 4-500 of each other depending on profit margin and overhead costs. ANY time you see a price that is significantly lower than anyone else it is a scam or the merchandise is stolen. no one sells for less than what they pay for it, you would go out of business.
what these scam artists do is sell non us products without a us warranty then try to sell you an extended warranty that pushes their price higher than adorama's. if you don't buy the warranty the camera you want suddenly becomes out of stock untill you choose a more expensive model. Or they do what BROADWAY photo (never do business with them) does. they offer a low price on the camera body because that is all they are selling you. you want the battery and charger, extra charge, camera manual extra chargr, body cap, software camera strap extra charge.
For new equipment do what the pros do SHOP ADORAMA, B+P PHOTo only. both have fair prices, and excellant reputations. The fact is photography is not a cheap hobby. you are better off buying used than new from shady sellers.
I highly recommend buying from a good, nearby Camera shop. Their prices were quite competitive, and they were right in my neighborhood. They also take care of their customers. My shop even has all of the paper and ink cartridges i use on my Epson 1400 photo printer. That is what i call one stop shopping.

They have a rating of 1.03 out of 10 from:
http://www.resellerratings.com/So I would say "buyer beware".
Best to check all online stores with resellerratings .com for customer reviews and ratings prior to any major purchase.
Happy shopping

you are correct. part of the problem is we as a country have come to the place where we want something for next to nothing. we want cadillac quality and features but only want to pay a yugo price for them. This is like a general invitation to the con artists of the world. It also explains why factories in usa are closing and reopening in china. Americans don't want to pay a fair price anymore. good quality well made camera equipment is not cheap new just like golf, firearms, and other hobbies. A good solution to the champagne taste/budweiser budget solution is to buy used. There is lots of well made equipment out there at a very favorable price being sold by reputable dealers like adorama.com, b+pphoto.com, and my personel buddies at KEH.com(whose fair prices and superb customer service I can not stop raving about.) You can pick up more lenses for your buck, more camera for your dinero and still save money.
Service Photo in Baltimore will match B&H Photo pricing.

If you are ever into buying studio strobe lights the best I have found is Paul Buffs outfit in Tennessee. Great products, ultra low prices and fantastic service. Their latest offering is a giant "light shaper, 80 inches across for a price of around $50. If you read "Shutterbug" magazine and you should, He always advertises there. I called the for a couple of 650 watt monolights at 4.30 in the evening and I got them delivered next day at 10:00am. NOT BAD!
Oh and every part of their units are made in Guess were, IN the USA.

Two of the photographic retailers I have done business with are Calumet Photographic based in Chicago and B and H inManhatten. I cannot say enough good things about either of the.
Calumet have a lot of their own "Branded" products that are very good quality including large stainless steel sinks for those of us that hav'nt climbed down the Ark's gangplank and coincidently they have a huge store in Londo , UK that was the best pro shop in Europe. It was called Pelling and Croos and is directly across Baker Steet from Sherlock Holmes house.
Good luck with the camera hunting. The local camera shps in my old stomping ground would not even order a pack of 50 rolls of Ilford Black and white film. Calumet got them to me in 2 days flat and mailed chemicals too.
