"Digital Photographer' This magazine is printed in the UK 9" X 11.75" in size. About $105 U.S. for 13 issues. My question, is there an equivalent magazine printed in the US?

Personally, for "general" photography, I've pretty much allowed all of my US photography magazine subscriptions to lapse, but do read Digital Photographer, Digital Camera World, Digital SLR Photography, and Outdoor Photography (all UK magazines) on a regular basis. The last two I have downloaded to my iPad. I am impressed with the quality of their how-to articles in that they go into more depth, and provide good detailed info. I honestly don't feel the US magazines do as nice a job.

Love the English mags. The tell you how do things. I have trouble telling the articles from the ads in today's American mags. I have a few mags from the 40's to the 60's' Can you imagine an article about using tin cans to make studio lighting or how to use your enlarger lens for macro. No way. Today's magazines are written for the advertisers. They are not going to print anything that just may lose a sale for an advertiser. They tell you what to buy to do something not how to do it. - Dave

I agree. The american mags are all about how the magazine and the advertiser are going to make money.

If you have Nikon, N-Photo is a good mag but again it is from England and US price is around $100 per year.

I read several, most are from England. Do it all on line now, a service called Zinio. It is much cheaper to go for the digital as they are quite expensive at the news stand. If you're a Canon shooter the "PhotoPlus" magazine is strictly Canon stuff, though they are independent so are also critical of gear as needed. I view my mags on an Ipad, they look great and have a very nice interface. Just a thought!

Novots, thanks for this. I didn't know about this magazine before. Just purchased and downloaded an issue to my iPad in order to check it out. Good stuff!

You're welcome. I'm a Canon guy so I like that focus of the mag.
