Illconveived Association of Industry and Politicians

Have you ever wondered how our elected officials get rich on the salaries they receive? Numerous members of our electorate have attained millions from industry in what might be considered a conflict of interest to the general populace. They are members of boards for industrial giants and attain a "stippend" payment for their influence and votes in congress. Congressmen and Senators are sitting on the boards of industrial giants and then sitting on congrssional sub-commitees that draft bills or regulations and then voting in the legislature for laws and bills that gain for the companies they are on the board of Directors of. This "stippend" can be as high as a few hundred thousand dollars, but the stock options and insider information they convey can make them millions when they vote for favorable legislation.
How is this legal? Only insider trading by elected officials has been addressed and now illegal, but not the membership on company board of Directors. Just think about that.....

I may be wrong, but I don't think what you' re saying is correct. Can you give examples of which legislators are sitting on what boards? My understanding is that that is prohibited by law or House and Senate rules, but, like I said, I could be mistaken.

See who is on the boards of Directors for Microsoft, IBM AT&T, Exxon-Mobile, Archer-Daniels-Midland, Mansanto, Dupont and every pharmaceutical company in the USA just to name a few. All have members of Congress on their boards. This must be stated on their disclosure documents and is a matter of public record. Only the insider trading rule was addressed, not the ability to sit on the board of directors.

I just read the mini-biographies of all of the members of Dupont, and not one is now or ever was a member of Congress.

I'm gonna check out GlaxoSmithKline, one of the pharma companies you are talking about, and report back.

I checked GlaxoSmithKline, as well as the two largest American pharmaceutical companies, Johnson and Johnson and Pfizer, and no one on any of those boards is a member of Congress. Please supply me with specific examples of what you are alleging.

I'll continue checking, but I think you stirred up something that doesn't exist.

Just checked IBM, AT&T, and Exxon-Mobil. Not one Director on any of them is in Congress. Just as I assumed, you probably forwarded some nonsense you read on the internet machine without checking into it.

You should then check that relatives of congressman and senators are there. Wives sometimes use maidan names. Seems that's the latest means to hide associations.
And APPLE, MICROSOFT, GE, Verizon and AT&T (might be LUCENT Tech now though) all have elected officials on their boards.
And speaking of tax evasion, AT&T should pay well over $200 million in PAUL HALL tax when they sold all of their cable shipping businesss to Tyco International since none of their ships were built in the USA. They didn't have to pay that tax when they first bought the ships since they were classified as a utility and under the BELL SYSTEM then. Now Tyco has them reflagged and home port is now in Bermuda.
PAUL HALL TAX is for any ships that loads and discharges cargo within US waters and the tax is 100% of costs of construction and equipment if not built in the USA. Not one of AT&T's ships were built here. The new ones (2) were built in Singapore one in Italy and another in Germany and stolen from Hamburgh harbor when the ship building company went bankrupt. So the tax owed now would be almost $1 Billion for all 4 ships.

As I figured, you made up your original charges. And when you were exposed as a fraud you changed the topic. Great job.

Not true at all. There was a huge scandal some years back about congressman and senators using Archer-Daniels- Midland private jets for vacations and board meeting that included exotic locations. This was publishedin the newspapers.
Microsoft still has a Senator on the board and I'm not sure anout Archer-Daniel or Monsanto any more since they were caught.

Bluntly put, you are a liar. There is no Senator on Microsoft's Board. Prove me wrong, give me a name. What Senator? If you can't put up, then please shut up. You're making a real fool of yourself.
