About twenty eagles on this trip to Idaho-- Wolf Lodge Bay . The upstream run is about over for sock eye salmon. Fun day,

Looks like you tried recovering an underexposed file? What are you using to edit your photos...the shot is great, but the halo is dizzying.
Good to hear your take. The shoot day was dark gray and I used Apple I-photo to get a better look. Are you thinking there is to much contrast? The original copy is attached and my settings as per IPhoto. Work on it if you like . Appreciate you time.
Thanks Jim

Great capture!
Thanks for looking the original is attached Iphoto changes evident.
Just sent you a PM...iphoto is ok for general tweaking, but I really think Lightroom does a spectacular job with recovering over and underexposed files without creating the dreaded halos. From the images that you posted here (which were very low res, not the originals) I was able to make it better, but it was pixelating due to the small file (only 50kb jpgs). If you send me the raw, I'll post the changes too like you did above.
the previous one was an edit of the jpg...this one is an edit of the raw file...
Definitely a wall-hanger troutcreek!
Sue
wow awesome capture, nice going
Thanks for the look Sue.
Fun time. Happy NEW YEAR.
THANKS FOR THE LOOK HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Aren't they magnificent?! Also interesting to read how (and with what program) people are able to fix exposures and such. I saw 12 bald eagles myself yesterday (several immature), though that is not the record for this one stretch of county road along the Yakima River.
Pure envey for me and lucky you. Great that you can photograph, don't miss a day. Are they on the way to the ocean?

I'm pretty sure are here most of the winter, and you usually see a few all year long. There is at least one active nest on the river, and I imagine there are many more.
