Hi all,

I just purchased a Logitech Mouse G700 (gaming) for editing. It's very responsive, precise and I can program its buttons, however, its quite large for my small hand.

What brand and model do you all use? I programmed this mouse on a pc and use it on my mac. I think i'd like all the bells & whistles but a smaller model. Any ideas? This one was around $70. Thx.

I've given up on special mice. I use standard wired or wireless.

I just use a standard Logitech optical mouse but I also have a Wacom tablet that is really nice for photo editing. I'm not married to it, if it's something quick and doesn't need a lot of detail work I use the mouse but if I'm doing a lot of photos or something tedious I go to the tablet.

I've looked and looked, redpepper, and, like Jerry, have given up. I'm using a Logitech wireless I sort of like. I am, however, devising a rectangular "frame" around it, so I can zip it along a ruler, or other straight-edge, without shifting its orientation. That's my only brilliant idea.

Ditto on the mouse, but I think your mouse pen is brilliant! Simple, cheap and effective. Thanks!

For most basic editing, only a standard, preferable wireless, mouse is needed..anything more is gilding the lily..the only exception for me is using a mouse that brags extra battery life..and that has paid off.

For precision work, a Wacom tablet and pen is great..but it does take a little practice to be comfortable.

Go for a mouse that feels comfortable in your hand.

Has anyone tried Apple's Magic Mouse? I heard it was too sensitive.

Don't know if you're windows based but if you are you can go into the synaptics pointing device menu by clicking the tiny triangle bottom right of page near date. You can adjust cursor size, speed, colour etc from there.

I tried the Magic Mouse on two Macs, and it has a problem. It will zoom in whenever it wants. I know there is a gesture or movement with the hand to make it zoom, but two mice behaved the same way - zooming at will, with no definite way to get back to normal. I replaced the Apple mouse with a regular wireless mouse, and it works fine.

As for the Apple wired mouse, I like the way you can just move your fingers across the surface to move up/down or left/right. No scroll wheel needed.

I'm also looking for portability of a wireless, as my macbook pro has usb ports on the left hand side. I mouse right-handed.

I have a wireless mouse with a compartment inside for the USB receiver. I helps me to keep from losing it.
