Help please.
We lost our dear old Dad in August and I am about to buy PSE11. Can anyone give me pointers as to how to enhance this wartime picture of him as I want to make a nice portrait for my mom. Hopefully I've attatched this. Thanks for looking in at this.

Photoshop. Sorry to hear about your dad. btw: you didn't store the original photo.
I have a feeling you're going to get a few examples of how it's done before this thread is over :).
But if you're doing it yourself, there are some easy fixes you can make including, but not limited to:
> cloning the background to remove the crease
> adjusting contrast/curves to build more richness
> sharpening just a touch to bring up the detail a bit.
Bottom line, just get in there and play with it. You'll be amazed at the variety of results you'll come up with. Good luck.
Thanks guys, that was a rapid response. How do I go about storing photo?
When you put a photo in here for us to see, make sure you put a checkmark in the (store original) box. then folks can get it and possibly fix it for you and then put it back in here.

my condolences for your loss. Any one who wants to do somethingnice for their mom gets my help. I take it your dad was in the Royal Army? Was he a ww2 or Korea vet? I am giving you 3 different aproachs. all used levels, clone stamp and healing brush. then on one i gave it a tint and used some of the artistuic filters, #3 I gave a painting look to as well as a gold monochrome tint to look like an old fasioned photo.
I didn't do so well on the left cheek. Looks like he has a scar... sorry.
