I just got a Nikon D800 refurbished and 28-300 Nikon lens. A huge leap from a D5100. MTShooter thanks for all of your help.

I hope you upgraded your storage space. The D800 produces some LARGE files.

If you have Photoshop you can convert the Nikon NEF files to DNG files and the DNG files are about 40% smaller but they are still raw files with all of the information. The DNG converter comes with Photoshop.
