I have a Soligor 80-200mm F4.5 zoom+Macro C/D Auto Lens. I use a Canon Rebel T3i. Can the Soligor lens be used with the Canon? Is it worth the trouble? Thanks for advice.

I have a couple of Soligor lenses and like them very much especailly for the price I paid.. I do have to use in manual mode though,of which I do not mind since I prefer to shoot in manual mode. You just need to make sure you have the proper adapter for your camera. I have the Canon T4I. Tim

Thanks. Can you point me to the "proper adaptor?" I would have to think it would be the same as for the T4i. Wm

Do you already have the lens?If so , what did it say it was for? If it is for a canon fd mount you will need an fd to ef adapter. You can get these on amazon.Just type in fd to ef adapter. fotodiox makes one with the lens for under $33.00.

I have the lens in its original box and with instructions. I cannot find any indication of "what it was for." I'm thinking you are referring to a type of camera? At any rate, the lens name (quoted originally) is on the title of the instructions and the inside has the specifications. This is just the expected tech info about the lens.

If you know what the mounting ring of the lens is, you can get and adapter for it. I had to take one to a camera shop to find out which camera it was for then I was able to find the proper adapter for it. Fotodiox is the manufacturer I would go with as far as the adapter goes. Can you take a pic of the mounting ring of the lens, and put it on here so that we can see which camera it might be for? I believe that the C/D you have listed with ident of the lens means Canon fd mount. So you would definately need a canon fd to ef adapter from amazon, as I said, Fotodiox would be the way to go with the lens intact in the adapter.

I have added two pix at your suggestion. They seem to have ended up in the body of earlier posts above. Thx so much for your helpfulness! Wm

Okay, It does appear to me to be the Canon fd mount. Now you can get the" fd to ef adapter" as I had stated earlier. If for some reason it does not work, you can return. amazon.com has them as I said. Tim ps. good luck and would like to see any images you take with the lens and your setup.

Thx. After going to Amazon and seeing the plethora of adaptors, none of which listed a T3i as compatible, I resolved to do just what you suggested!

As I stated earlier, amazon has the adapter needed, Canon fd to eos adapter made by fotodiox. It has a lens within the adapter that allows focusing to infinity. I have the same adapter for my T4I and it will work on a T3I yet you will only be able to shoot manually since it is an fd lens. They have them in stock and have a 2 year warranty for $32.95.
