I like the reflections in the second one, it just needs something in the foreground to add a bit of interest.

If you shot from a lower angle and included some tall grass or shot from between trees on your side.....

Just my opinions.

Yupper...Too much in the foreground. The background is beautiful.

Aloha.. I am by far not one to critique... I love the first shot, it resembles all the rest here at UHH.. (Beautiful). The second one, since I like playing with color editing, you might try make the sky more blue. Darker, that is, just see, see what you think? Water reflection shots are always nice, they somehow remind me of ourselves, ever-changing flowing along.

I like these...but the fall colors....seem a bit washed out.

Bob, these are nice photos.

If I had the chance to do these, I might get a little more artsy with them. But, that is just me. I agree that the second photo colors could be more dramatic. Time of day makes a big difference in the amount of light and color saturation. It would be nice to have captured a boat or wildlife as a point of interest in the foreground. Of course, the perfect shots are rare...Most of us work with what we have at the moment.

Bob, just a tiny adjustment.

And, I think I see some leaves in the upper left corner. If there was a tree there, you could scoot over just a bit and get some of the tree in the left side of this photo. It could add some dimension. But, that is personal preference call.

Hi Bobgilmer,
Great job, but the second is a much better shot. I would cut down the iso a bit, and try to amp up the color a bit.
Fantastic 1st posts and welcome to the Hog.

I find them very bland. One gimmick I have used successfully with similar shots has been to throw a pebble into the water and shoot while the ripples are on the surface.
Also these appear to have been shot near midday on a nice day. They might be much better early or late in the day or even on a bad day with rain or fog.
