Someone posted a ques. What do we do with all our photos. There were many good ideas, and it really spurred me on to frame some of my better pics and enjoy them rather than just have them on Cds or external hard drives.
My question is, now that I am trying to frame some of my photos, I am finding that frames are pretty expensive. Hit a couple sales at Jo Anns and Michaels, but am wondering where everyone gets their frames???? Any ideas for cheaper frames. I am not into building my own!!! Well, maybe I could if I knew how!!!! Costco does a fairly good print for 13cents and I want to give some pics away, but do not want to spend a ton of $$$$$ just on frames.
Thanks for any ideas you might have.

Surprisingly the Dollar Store and 99 Cent Only Store have decent frames.

Actually - making the frames is easy. Finding supplies for the frame tends to be more difficult, Finding glass for frames I have found very difficult and expensive.
Therefore it is probably a very good idea to look around the shops for cheap frames. You may find ones with pictures in that are cheaper than empty ones.

Go out and buy sets of matching frames from discount stores and watch for sales from photo shops. Measure the size of photo for the frames. Then crop or re-size your photos before printing so they will fit nicely. Saves a lot of time and cutting your over-sized prints.

simple black metal frames with white matts - IKEA
and funky cute frames - http://poppytreeframes.com/ (not cheap) but if you have some wood working skills, I'm sure you could whip up your own.

So many great ideas, cannot wait to go out and try them, like Ikea, thrift shops, and $ stores. I have been able to find some at the flea market too.
Thanks for all the ideas.

I have the opposite problem... too many frames. My photos are all over the house. I've even got one room dedicated to B&W photography only. Driving my wife crazy, but other friends and family love them. Of course, what are they going to say, right? Photography really is a pretty selfish hobby. :-)

The Dollar Store, Wal-Mart and K-Mart have very reasonable frames and they are pretty good quality. Also, I have been told that IKEA has very good quality and are very reasonable.

Good Luck
