I know a lot of UHHers are into photographing birds. You'll probably find this link interesting.

Fascinating. But I my take on it is not the marvel of evolution, but the marvel of the Creator, who makes all paradises.

Thanks for sharing.

How unreasonable of her :) If you find out how to get her to go along, let me know your secret.

I keep thinking about the narrative that the photographer gave. He keeps wondering "why?" these unusual birds exist, always in the context of survival. Somehow a rather utilitarian philosophy. They just don't fit in with what strikes me as a rather grim view. Maybe there is no particular reason. Or maybe these traits are just there for enjoyment...that too is a purpose, but not such a joyless one.

Sometime I go ahead and get the item and mix it into my other items and if she happens to notice and comments about it I just say I have had it along.

It does work occasionally.

Dump the wife. Cameras and lenses are cheaper in the long run. Now I've really opened a can of worms with our female Uhh'ers. But they can always post and change the wording. My second ex came home one day to find I had sectioned off the garage, framed a couple of walls and installed the sheet rock for my new darkroom. All the darkroom equipment is boxed up now if anyone needs it. I no longer have a place for it.
