I've seen sunsets but never a moonset. My daughter said she seen one about 2 weeks ago. Does anyone have any pictures of any?

Surely there is a Moon set every time the planet revolves, wherever you are located
I myself have only observed about 10 over my lifetime and I am now retired, it's not something which is as notable as sunrise/set.

I've not been on this site very long, but it seems that you open your mouth before you think and make inane and sarcastic comments.
The OP was stating that she/he had not seen a moon set. I myself have only observed about 10 over my lifetime and I am now retired, it's not something which is as notable as sunrise/set.
Your attitude makes me shudder to think that you are English, show some thought before you speak or write comments, you seem to upset quite a few very helpful and polite people on this site.

I understand there is a moonset everytime the planet revolves , but either i'm not up that late or up that early. I live near lake Erie and my daughter had to take her boyfriend to work and observed one setting on Lake Erie, she said it was as pretty as a sunset, it was huge and a pretty glow which reflected off the lake and made the lake all silver.

Hi I took both of these pictures with my phone about two weeks ago the moon was setting behind the mountains I wish I would have had abetter camera its not something you see every day . Hope tou get to see it happen its just too cool.
Hi Woman4404 - I saw my first moon set just last year early one morning on the way to work and it was gorgeous! It is surprising that I made it to work in one piece because I couldn't take my eyes off it. It struck me that I had seen partial moon sets but as the moon sinks lower into the horizon there always seems to be cloud cover, which is probably why after 27 years travelling to work at the same time I hadn't seen one before. I think you have to be in the right spot at the right time - good luck with catching one. Kellie
The first moonset I ever had the pleasure of viewing was early in the morning in Maui. It was one of the great pleasures of a wonderful trip. I live in Colorado Springs with a view of Pikes Peak to the west of our home...now I get up on purpose to view a moonset.
#1. Moonset Maui
#2. Super Moon over Pikes Peak
Maui Moonset
Moonset over Pikes Peak
Awesome I live in the springs to the moon sets I shot were from my phone through thick yuckie glass .but.what a treat:-)
Have to also bear in mind that the moon rises and sets at different times according to which phase it is in, and also appears differently according to where we are on the planet. x
