Carp, google and believe what you want

http://worldnews.about.com/od/crime/tp/Top-Murder-Rates-In-The-World.htm

NOT ONE parent in the UK has ever considered sending children to school in bullet proof clothing, we don't have armed guards in schools

NO WHERE is 100% safe, there are areas of Plymouth, 14 miles from me where I would not walk after dark, NOT because I would be shot, but there are rough areas, residents living there however would.

NEVER in MY life have I EVER worried that my sons would be shot dead in school.

Before we go back to 1776 and end up in another war with the UK, I would like to say something to my Countrymen here in the USA.
Why are you all bashing the UK for their violent crime. They had 722 murders last year. We had more than 14,000.
The per capita rate is quadruple here of what it is in the UK.
Yes your Youtube videos of beatings with bats, etc are action filled but the truth is those videos exist because they have one of the most extensive closed circuit television systems in the world.
Now, can we be civil to these folks. They've been our allies through thick and thin and deserve some respect.

UK is violent crime capital of Europe
The United Kingdom is the violent crime capital of Europe and has one of the highest rates of violence in the world, worse even than America, according to new research.

not exactly 'news' then??

of course we have our problems - be nice to live in a perfect society...

Policing is by consent, so we all, more or less, get the policing we pay for.

and (referring to another thread) we Brits DO have the right to BARE (sic) arms, but it is frowned on at 'Black Tie@ events..

finally, thank you Frank - you (USA) were there for us, and we for you. Even Brothers In Arms can have different views

;)

Well put Frank T, some one with brain at last, correct with everything you have said. Although words like ' per capita rate' will be lost on Wabbit as he is still playing with his cartoons. However, when he grows up and goes out into the big wide world and realises cartoons are for children, he may see the world from an adults point of view!!

I was just about to go off to bed but decided to sign in to say "Thanks for that".

Most people in the world are decent and respectful of others. Unfortunately a small, high profile minority can create a very negative impression.

OK, I'm off to bed now. Your comments have given me something positive to fall asleep thinking about.
