In the first weekend the iPhone 5 was on sale in China, it sold two million units. I guess that's why everyone wants to sell in China.

It has been said for YEARS that Apple R and D develop the best thing they are able to including everything they foresee that is needed then "remove" most, adding them later in bits every time they release a new (Hah) product.

Of course. Do you think they just happen to "develop" a great new idea to include in their new products? They dole out improvements as if they were giving candy to children.

I think every manufacture does this then waits for the market to be flooded with it's product and promptly releases a updated product to make us thinks what we have is inferior.
I buy when I want to and sod the technology
If you wait for the latest product you will buy nothing at all as there is always something better just around the corner

They definitely want you to keep returning for more. When I started with Verizonwireless, I paid $30/mo for an unlimited data plan. When they discontinued the unlimited plan, I was allowed to keep it when I got a new phone. Well, they changed thneir minds about that. If I get a new phone from them, my $30 will get me a olimited data plan. I don't pay the extra fee for texting because I have no need for it.

This is just a simple curiousity question. How do they buy all that stuff in China when they are paid slave wages? When I figure that out I might get rich.

I often wondered that myself. Maybe Apple employees get a discount. :D

Do you think they sell cheaper over there in the country of origin? Maybe that's it.

I can get the iPhone 4 for free with a 2 yr contract. Otherwise, it's $100, and that's not too bad. The Chinese economy is huge. Although their hourly wage is lower, people are buying cars like crazy. Lots of people are making lots of money - and spending it. Because there are so many new drivers with no experience even as passengers in cars, the accident rate is very high.

The manner in which stuff is released hasn't changed in more than 50 years! If you remember the first ballpoint pin; they cost about $30 then (equal to about $65 now). When everyone who could afford or save to buy one of the expensive ones, they made an "improvement" (read cosmetic) change, remarketed the thing to another income level at $15, and so one down to being able to buy one for a dollar. Now they are ubiquitous and an be had for cents. The iPhone process is just another method of "skimming the cream" for those who choose to be manipulated.
