The UPS man was kind enough to bring me a Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L lens last night, so I took it out today to the horse park and figured that wold be a great way to test it. It is simply fantastic. These pics are basically cropped and resized. I know none of the competitors, but had a blast.

It is easy to tell, the horse in the first picture is a true champion, as he seems to give it just that little bit extra!!!

Just that extra boost to clear the barricade.....

LOL! This is the first time I have ever been here. It is a great place. I also found out the play polo in the illages starting in March. I am going to head down there and check that out as well. Thank you for looking!!

They sometimes practice polo at the Horsepark to, but I don't think they post the practice dates. Polo is fun to practice action shots and settings. Isn't that an awesome oak tree right as you go into the park but it's got that ugly fence around it.

Do you often photograph horses? The second shot is almost the perfect equine shot. You rarely go wrong with a 3/4 shot of a horse OR a great close-up. I would level #2 though....OOPS, sorry, you didn't ask for C&C

First time photographing horses, other than a few in a field a while back. I have only had a DSLR for a couple months. Just a P&S before that.

Also, no need to apologize, I welcome C&C for anything I post. Best way to learn. I was so excited with the capture on that one I didn't even notice it was out of level!! Thank you for looking.

Hey Horseart, just noted your comment regarding #2 being leveled, want you to know it helped me, I didn't even notice it till you commented and I'm guilty of doing this a lot, but from seeing comments on here I'm "working" on it. I did a horse show a few weeks back and looking at them on the big screen I realized everyone was headed downhill, every single one. Sheesh.
