I photographed this honeybee in my backyard over the summer. Liked the look of the numerous stamens (?) sticking up all around her.
C&C always welcomed. 8-)
ISO 400, 105mm, f/25, 1/60 flash
Nice capture. Remember, keeping insect tangent to lens will keep entire insect within plane-of-focus.
Hi Bmac
I really like this shot and can see what the title says
I have not done any macro or insect shots so can only imagine how difficult it is to get all the elements correct in such a short timescale
Really like the shot

Thanks Karl. Macro is difficult for me but my motivation is striving to create the macro photographs of folks such as Nikonian72, Fstop22, Tinusbum, Blurryeyed and others. I am already yearning for the spring here and insects appearing! 8-)

Thanks Bruce and it looks like you have a nice sunny day for your excursion to Robert Moses, let me know how the deer made out after Sandy. 8-)
That's a 'honey' of a shot, Bmac. Outstanding color, a good strong subject, sharp and well lit. Great job.
Anyone ever figure out why honeybees have stripes? Nothing in nature is a coincidence, so there must be a reason for it. Questions like these keep me up at night.
