We in the uk hope you are all safe amid the terrible bush fires that are savaging your beautiful country our thoughts and prayers go out to you all.tasmania is worse hit we hear so please if you know anyone there tell them were thinking of them .

Second that. In my part of the world last year was deadly, and within a mile of my home nearly 120 homes burned over a one week period. Please be safe. May God watch over those of you in Tasmania and Australia.

Thank you all for your thoughts, very much appreciated. A lot of damage with no confirmed fatalities at this stage.
I am a regular reader of this forum but as yet not a contributor.

Our thoughts and prayers are with those involved in the fires.
I worked for the US Forest Service and our son is a wild land firefighter. We know the frightening power of the wild land fires the destruction and loss of life for people and wildlife in its path. We have met firefighters from Australia and they are amongst the best.
Again our thoughts & prayers are for all involved!

thank you treslek and Sierracoyote, I wasn't directly involved however from all reports there were many frightening situations.
It's a positive that fire and other emergency agencies exchange visits and ideas with other Countries that experience similar disasters.

Wildfires are devastating to hearts and souls as well as precious landscape and homes. My best wishes for everyone's welfare.

My wife has 2 artist friends that she contacted today that live in Tasmania. One is not within the fire zone and the other lady is in Sydney and her home is okay. Our hearts go out to those however who have been in harms way.
