Rough day to be a pheasant.

When I go out in the mornings to feed my cows, there are usually a lot of pheasants out trying to catch the first rays of sun, and scratching on the feedground looking for seed that shook out of the hay. I've been meaning to get some photos of them, so I took a camera today. I was surprised that I saw no pheasants, but it soon became apparent why they were absent. I shot all of these Birds this morning. I dont usually see so many raptors. I should have spent more time watching the eagle, but it was 5 degrees this morning, and I lost my enthusiasm after about 40 minutes.

 I can understand you wanting to get back to the house with that cold temp. Looks like the Ringneck might have followed you home to a safer place. All the pics are nice. Thanks for sharing.

I like the tufts of grass/weeds in front of the pheasant and the light on its tail. A beautiful bird. #1 photo is lovely; looks so graceful. You lasted 35 minutes more in that temperature than I would have!
