This horse is at a Halloween event just outside of where I live. I don't know why they had horses as part of the event but they did. This is the only one I had permission to shoot. Sorry, she only let me take two photographs then asked me to move on. People are rude these days. I don't think I was hurting anything by taking photographs. I even offered to send her copies but she didn't want that either.

The only reason I know the horses name is because I over heard one of the girls tell her to "come on" as they walked her away.

To bad you didn't have more of a chance to to shoot such a beautiful animal. I think an apple would have done the trick. Not for the horse, but to plug the mouth of the owner. I know, rude thought.

Not a rude thought at all! I was hoping she'd just disappear and leave the horse. The reason I even brought up why I didn't get to shoot the horse like I had really wanted to was simply because, the lady photographer's that was there was shooting away and the girl was all smiles and in the photographs, then I asked for permission (excuse me! Hi! She's a beautiful horse, would you mind if I take a few photographs of her as well?) That's when stuff hit the sky with her... Did I ask wrong?

I am so sorry this happened. Please know that we are not all like that. Someone has to pit a thumbtack in her saddle. 99% of horse people love to share their horses. They are kind and gentle. Find more and take shots of them. Their eyes tell their story and, when their ears are up and forward, you've connected. If you can catch these qualities, you've captured their soul. Good luck!

This woman is a true representative of the phrase, "Get off your high horse." I think we should hide her mounting block.

I know your not all like that! lol, it just wasn't my day is all. It started out kind'of eeh, if you will. I love horses! Where I am from (before I moved to Kansas) horses was about all I knew how to ride. I'm a country boy at heart, just live in the city is all. Not for long thank goodness!

Do not judge all horse people by her. Yes some can be very snotty, just like anywhere else (they are usually newbies and do not know their way around as yet). But for the most part horse people are very gregarious and love to have their horses photographed. When I was in the show world, it was considered a compliment to have your horse photographed.
If you want to shoot any, come to my place, I have six who all love to have their photos taken, the big hams!

Just ignore them, some people are rude, some people are Narcissic, most likely she wanted it to be all about her.

You did a good job of the horse. She on the other hand was a horse's arse.

I know that's right! I would love to shoot some good photographs of horses when I can have more time at doing so... This lady really got herself on my bad side lol... I can tell you though she's not a newbie, I've seen her at many events for years, including the Expo during the rodeo's. Thanks for offering to let me come by and photograph your horses, I can tell by the way you wrote this, you take very good care of your horses! Thanks!

Don't feel bad. I'm sure that you approached her in the appropriate way.

I lived in Hong Kong for a few years and there were many people in Asia that believed that if you photographed them that you were capturing their spirit. I've had oranges thrown at me and chased down the street with a bambo pole.

Trust me it could have beeh worse. She at least wasn't physically throwing the dung at you in a literal sense.
