Shutter activations

I recently purchased a Nikon D600. I think it is rated to have 150,000 shutter activations. Does this mean that it must be refurbished when that number is reached. Is there any impact on the actual shutter speed accuracy when the shutter count exceeds that number? Thanks for your input.

Welcome to the hog.

I shoot a Canon, but, it means that you can expect that number of shots before 'expecting' possible repair to the shutter mechanics. It's like a car, you should be able to get 150,000 miles on an engine. Some will get more, some will get less. If it is mechanical, it is going to break. The question is when.

Zack, welcome to the hog. If and when you do reach 150,000 shutter activations, i would say yes have the camera refurbished. Wouldnt you want to be refurbished when you reach 150,000 activations? LoL ....

Photon.... You don't want to know. Triple bypass, 3 stints and a pacemaker and I still can't run worth a damn. But, the shooting got better.. Had to, couldn't get worse. Run and Gun became Gimp and Chimp photography.

Wow! Glad to know you're still with us. Keep on "gimping and chimping" and hopefully one day our paths with cross!
