I have a number of Canons and Nikon D7000s, On the Nikons I use Nikkor 28-300 VR, not cheap but a great lens, for surf/birding 150-500 Sigma, on the Canon Sigma 120-400 is great so should be on the D7000

Your D7000-- keep in mind your camera has a crop factor of 1.5.
Depending on what shooting your are doing, I would stick with all FX lenses, as you can use on both your DX and maybe later a DX body, if you happen to purchase such in future.
I shoot nikon; and, have used other lenses, but prefer to stay with the nikon lenses of best quality. Another brand that is great is the Tokina Pro lenses. I would look at Tokina PRO lenses ( very high quality build ) over other 3rd party lenses.... first.
In my collection of lenses, I have all that you mention--
The 85mm image stabilization VR ( FX)
the 28-300 image stabilization VR II (FX)
the 70-200 image stabilization VR II (FX)
There are really no short cuts is buying a good lens...

I'd like to suggest that you look at these : 85mm Nikkor f1.8D - a great lens, readily available in very good quality on eBay UK, doesn't have an internal focus motor, but your D7000's motor will drive it just fine.
For 70-200mm f2.8 I read this review and bought a very sharp and mint condition example of this lens, again on eBay UK -

Thank You Stienmetz, & JR1 , Both comments are very helpful I will have to save up to buy once and save in the end! But No thoughts on Tamron lenses?

I think you should put quality ahead of price. Even if that means waiting to save up between lenses.

i like my nikon 85mm 1.8 strictly for portrait...the only tamron lens that i have and absolutely love is my 28-75mm that i use almost 99% of the time when i do a session outdoors where i need to change the distance quickly without changing lenses..such as a beach scene or if i am in the city and doing a walk around shoot where i do not want to have 2 cameras hanging around my neck..it has wonderful detail even in low light situations..

here is a photo unedited from my tamron 28-75mm that i shot in the edison hotel lobby the other night of a friend of mine while he was resting up
ISO400 ..60mm..0ev..f2.8 1/15sec hand held...
If you are looking for a good price for quality glass, check out the used stores at KEH, Adorama or B&H. I also recommend the Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 which has an optional chip for recognition on Nikon cameras. You have to manually focus, but this is a well-built lens that is plenty sharp and fast. Check the reviews.
