I have a Kodak easy share digital camera and an iphone4. I don't edit my photos either. I'm a completely ammature photographer and proud mama. I'm wondering what equipment and editing software is best to improve my shots.

I am using a Mac computer and I use Aperture. But the folks on here always post some that are free. And they seem to be easy to use and they getting awesome results. I am sure a few will jump in and help you. What computer are you using?

Start with one of the online editors http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-84728-1.html
or Google's Picasa picasa.google.com/

That doesn't tell us if this is a laptop or desktop. There have been numerous threads in the past on basic system requirements. For a beginner, I agree that Picassa is a simple PP program that will run on almost any modern computer running WINDOWS. More advanced PP programs may have more stringent and costly requirements for video card, CPU, RAM and storage devices.

I have an HP desktop computer. As long as it's not a relic, I think most any would be fine. From what you are saying, I would suggest something like Paintshop Pro X5. It has a lot of nice features and is inexpensive. A great way to really get your feet wet in the game of post processing. Don't go too elaborate. It can be too frustrating.

Start out, and you may just stay with Google's Picasa. It'll do all you want it to do including keep track of every picture you have ever taken and fed to your puter. AND IT'S FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are welcome. Look, it won't cost you a thing, but some time to down load and that's simple. Someday when you're rich and famous you can make a decision, I don't know why, perhaps to look at some of these whiz bang programs that take up half your computers's speed and room costing, in many cases, one month's car payment. If you can do most of it for free---why would you change? Good luck, love to your little one and happy New Year.
