Why our military cannot communicate with each other

One reason the Military Services have trouble operating jointly is that they don't speak the same language. For example, if you told Navy personnel to "secure a building," they would turn off the lights and lock the doors. The Army would occupy the building so no one could enter. Marines would assault the building, capture it, and defend it with suppressive fire and close combat. The Air Force, on the other hand, would take out a three-year lease with an option to buy.

Strange how that works! Guess I'm just glad they keep doing their jobs well.

That's tragically funny, but true. Give me one week and I can fix it...

I enjoyed that.
I had hired an ex-marine and I told him that both of my kids were in the Air Force. He told me how he had to go to an Air Force Base to cross-train and how he got extra pay due to the poor housing that was provided for him on base. He told me that the housing at the Air Force that he used was way better than what he had at his Marine Base.

Being a USAF vet I have to take issue with this --- we would also find a way to build a golf course next to the building

AS a USAF vet I am proud of my service and that fact that I took two strokes off my game!!

I can attest to that I was in the Army on Okinawa and cross trained with the Marines. They lived in quonset huts and we live in concrete hurricane proof buildings. Unfortunately for us they sent us to Korea and gave our buildings to the marines.

Did he also tell you that the Marine Corps also is under the Department of the Navy and gets hand-me-downs? The Marines have always been the deprived child of the Services, but when the chips are down, their the ones who are called. Funny how it works that way.

Your comment "(Army) Marines", is like a slap in the face to anyone who served with the Marine Corps. Dam Army is the only service that lost it's colors and that's why they wear their tie tucked into their shirt. They retreated under combat in Korea. Marines have nothing to do with the Army at all. Seals are Navy and Marines and under Naval Command. Calling a Marine an "Army guy" is fightin' words. LOL.

The Army defeated Japan in WWII in the Philippines. The GIs that marched the Bataan Death March and saved your homeland would take exception to your comments.
As a retired service member, I take umbrage at your comment.

Take that comment any way you want to, but facts are facts. Check out the reason for the tucked tie on Army Uniforms if you like but I only stated facts.
To ellaborate, my first command was taking 650 Boot Marines to the Panama Canal Zone for the testing of various renditions of the M-16 rifle system in 1967. There were only 32 NCOs in the group and the testing was done in the "Old French Canal" area that's reverted to swampland and jungle. Anyway, those 32 NCOs kicked ass in the NCO club against overwhelming odds of "SO CALLED GREEN BERETS". Seems everyone on that base was a cocky "Green Beret" including the General's driver, but they couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag. Yea, I had to reprimand the NCOs, but I sure was proud of them.

Your comments included remarks about retreating, etc. That is what I take umbrage with. I know numerous service member who fought in Korea, were POWs and heroic. Your comment was unfair to them and anyone who lived through hostilities.
What happened in the NCO Club is of little interest to me. Imposing disciplinary action for an incident in the club is of no consequence

Those NCOs had only boot camp and basic infantry training while the "Green Berets" had supposed gone through special combat training and had been in the Army for a lot longer than my NCOs. But my men had one thing that those Green Berets lacked....HEART.
I honor all those who served bravely, but those that did in the Army have to suffer for those that made them lose their colors. Check the history books.
And don't ever call a Marine an "Army guy". Semper fi.
