I used to give tours as a guide at the Delaware State Museum... working demonstrations, too, as a teenager. Some of my favorite memories are of the truly historic homes on Main Street in Camden where I grew up (our home was restored to 1815 and is on the National Register of Historic Places as a confirmed, bonafide stop on the Underground Railroad)... so I'm really familiar with the character of the old brick buildings in Delaware. (I also used to frequent the historic graveyards!)
I can't thank you enough for sharing these. I live in a dumpy little town in Sussex County now... but I DO miss the place I grew up. Your photos reminded me that I need to get out more and SOON... and see the Dickinson Mansion and other areas of interest again...but I'll wait till Spring, maybe when the cherry blossoms are bloomin'...
Thanks again.
(And you're still postin' so in my best Ahhhhnold impersonation, "I'llll be back!" )
