The attitudes about gun ownership and the 2nd amendment expressed on this forum are all over the place. A friend of mine sent me this link and I think it is interesting. I'm sure somebody will "Snope" it. I haven't so I cannot say if it really was from Pravda. I only know that my friend never sends me anything that isn't legit.

I verified it as well as I could and it looks legit. I do not put faith in Snopes so I was being sarcastic when I said someone will probably run it through Snopes. The article is from Pravda and I am not familiar with Russian writers.

I was particularly amused by the following quote from the Pravda OpEd piece:
"So it is our politicians saying that our society is full of incapable adolescents who can never be trusted? Then, please explain how we can trust them or the police, who themselves grew up and came from the same culture?"
We have a Congress that deliberately creates a "fiscal cliff", and is then unable to prevent pushing our population over it, yet they are clever enough to write and enforce laws controlling our ownership of firearms? NOT!
We are no longer gullible enough to drink their Kool-Aid and believe their lies.
