But they didn't and sure as Murphy is Irish, you will over write an original sooner than later. The odds are just not in your favor.
I can't argue that. It is just a matter of time I guess.

There is nothing quite like the adrenalin rush from living on the edge!
Do you ride motorcycles, race cars, deep water dive, fly or jump? I do.
But I'm wimpy about accidentally overwriting an image file, as I know Murphy will make sure it is the only one I have and that it is my favorite.

I use to ride but had to give it up due to my bad foot. Can't shift with it. Always wanted to jump but guess that will not happen now. Really don't want to chance losing my foot.

Sorry about your foot. It happens to all of us eventually; we have to give some things up for the sake of sanity and living longer. What was your ride?

A Gold Wing, full blown. I really do miss it! She was great while it lasted!

As for the foot, it has been a two-year battle trying to keep it attached. I am fortunate; I have a surgeon that will not give up, even though I reached a point where I did. I developed a condition called Charcot foot. All the bones in the foot became soft and brittle so the foot collapsed. I have had nine operations on it in two years. He literally had to cut my foot in half and put it back together at one point. At that point I gave up and told him to take it but he refused to do it.

As he put it, I have been thru too much and fought too hard to do that to me. Him and I have actually become friends. Because of him and a couple of his surgical nurses I have turned my attitude around and I now refuse to give up. Don’t get me wrong; I have to be a realist at the same time. The odds are against me but it is possible, God willing, to beat it. Only time will tell. I have been blessed though; my surgeon is one of, if not the best, the most knowledgeable and skilled on the east coast when it comes to Charcot foot. There are very few surgeons that are familiar with this condition and I have the best.

I never had the pleasure of riding a Gold Wing, but they sure look like sweet cruisers.
I have read many of your posts and viewed your photos over the past year or so. It has always been a delight and I always learn something from you.

But what I learned in this post... well,
I'm saddened by your tragic odyssey with your struggle with Charcot foot and I'm inspired by both your positive attitude and your will power. Thanks for sharing that very personal side of your life.
I'm counting my blessings and praying for yours.

It really was a sweet ride. I really enjoyed the time I spent on it!

I did get a little carried away with that post, and almost went back and deleted. Then I thought, if it helps one person out there keep or create a positive attitude it will be a good thing. I didn't post it looking for sympathy. It was just an explanation of what life can throw at you. I often see a post by someone who is obviously miserable and I think if only they knew what could be happening to them. You never really have any way of knowing what is going to happen to you in the future!

What you do need to do is try and accept it and deal with it the best you can, because, unfortunately, you can’t change history. God know that if we could there are a million things we, as humans, would change but it is just not always possible.

Thank you for your prayers, I do appreciate that. I am glad that you have learned a few things from my posts, I know I have learned from yours. There are some very intellegent people on this forum we can learn from.
