Of all big game animals on the North American continent, the pronghorn antelope have eyes that are second to none. They can see at great distances and miss very little and especially movement. This photo, I took last fall, shows that they don't even miss much that is behind them. They are one sharp seeing critter!

Wow, he does have quite the range of vison. Wish I had that.
This is a spectacular photo, but answer me this...how do you get them to post so huge. Mine always get shrunk down to where they are unimpressive.

I have a Photo Bucket account and download them to that site, and then just link the photo I want there to this site.

They are a unique animal indeed! BB

Interesting...I have a Flickr site, I wonder if I can do the same thing. Guess I'll have to do some thinking on that. Thanks for the reply. And again....faboulous photo, I've checked it out several times.

I love the perspective! As for large size, I can't see it in one view, have to scroll down. James56: when you post, do you click the box on the right, "store original?"

I bowhunted for 50 years and it taught me a lot about getting close to wild critters. But if a person wants to take photos of wild pronghorns, which the ones I take are, you have to use a blind to conceal yourself. , other wise one would be shooting from over 100 yards away.

The photo following this paragraph is a buck whose photo I took at about 10 yards. It is NOT cropped one bit. This is the photo from my card with no cropping. Shots like this can only be obtained from a blind that totally hides your every movement. Unless the wind is blowing hard, if you are using a DSLR the shutter noise will only allow 1 click, as the noise scares them. But if the wind is blowing hard and they are swallowing, you sometimes can take several shots as they can't hear the shutter under those conditions.

I am a bow hunter and we get usually get within about 25 yards. What kind of lens do you use? I love the closeness and clarity. I have a Tamron 18-270 and am ready for an upgrade. Great picture!

The last photo was taken with my Zukio 300 2.0 lens.

My I see you are from Harve. Many years ago my favorite Uncle used to teach there. (back in the early 50's)
