Picasa viewer problem

Picasa is my default viewer. Sometime when I click on a photo the image starts out in full color then sometimes changes to a pinkish image. This only happens in Picasa. It happens on my XP, Win7 and Win 8 machines.
Any ideas?

Wish that would have been the only problem I've had with Picasa...
I just deleted Piccasa off ;my computer for the last time... It took complete control over "My Pictures" and in the process I lost probably 500 + pictures that dissapeared...This was NOT the first time "P" took control, but it was the most serious...
Does anyone know of a program simular to Picasa ?

I haven't used for a couple of years, but maybe Kodak Easyshare?

I only use the viewer not the actual program. I use the viewer to upload to my Picasa website.
I don't remember if the problem started with the current upgrade or not.
But it would be interesting to see what other problems or solutions there might be.

I do not think Picasa “disappeared” you pictures – you did! Unless you have clicked on “delete from disc” in Picasa all you snaps will still be in your “My Pictures” folder on the drive of your PC. Picasa only calls up thumbnails of you pics, it is non-destructive and does not touch your original images.

Anyone have the problem with the viewer switching from color to a pinkish cast?

I cannot find it on Google either. Does it happen with any other viewers? Can you check to see how much memory (RAM) you have and what kind of video card? You may also want to run a cleaner to see if clearing out 'junk' would help. The one from Microsoft works, but there are better of course. I think it has something to do with your RAM or video card though. Not a hard fix at least.

If you reduce the file size of the photograph does it change anything? Either way, this is probably where you want to ask.

Have used Picasa for 4 years and have had no problems with the old version or the new update. I load my pics from my card to my Pictures and from there move them to Picasa as I choose to work on them. Haven't lost any in exporting them to sub-folders in Picasa and like someone mentioned they are always in Pictures as well as Windows Photo Gallery. There are different ways to set up your Picasa---maybe you need to contact them to see if you have it set up properly. Just from my experience of dealing with electronics if there was a way to screw it up, in 4 years I think I would have done it........
