Candlelight

The idea for this picture started one morning when the sun coming through my window cast a shadow of a candle on the wall. I struck on the idea of adding a flame to the shadow but thought multiple candles would work better. To achieve this I bought the 5 piece candleabra from a charity shop (which came with the candles) and set up in my office. Canon 650D with Sigma 18 - 200mm lense was used and multiple images taken, lighting was a desk lamp and the work on the image was carried out in PS Elements 8. Time taken 1 1/2 hours.

Was it worth it? feedback appreciated

EVERY photograph where time and thought has been taken is "worth it" what is the case is "has it worked".

Yes and no.

1. Good imagination
2. Idea of missing candle no missing shadow is good.
3. flame in the shadow is also well executed.
4. I would have liked to see just a little more of the stand
5. Would have liked to see "whiter" wallpaper

I like the idea, but as Jr1 mentioned, I'd like to see more of the stand. I also think you should have finished it

Very clever! ... an idea I hadn't seen before. I think the composition is fine the way it is.

That's creative! Brought a smile to see the flame on the shadow. Good job.
