shooting into daylight from inside building

hi folks new about using first camera. but got a problem i have been taking pictures of a guy building an airplane. somtimes picture i want is toward big open hangar door. a the back light blackens foreground. any sugjesstion's

Move in close to your subject and lock the settings then move back and take your picture

use the "fill flash" on your camera to fill in the shadow, or dark part of the photo. if your flash does not fire, change the flash setting to flash on, and try it again. Believe me, it does work. I teach this to my students.
