The problem with the Mackinac bridge is it's so pretty to drive over and since I'm driving I can't look around. :~(

1889 Poughkeepsie RR Bridge in 1st photo (easterly) has great (southerly) view of the Poughkeepsie Auto bridge in 2nd photo..

see the white-water against the far shore? that's not waves... that's from the current running through this channel. it runs between 6 and 8 knots when the tide's changing, and the only time most sailboats can get through is at slack tide.

very nice and interesting bridge shots by all of you. i like bridges for their repetitive patterns, and the beauty of their design. heres my one bridge shot, of the mighty mac, between michigan's upper and lower pennisulas.
