used 3 bracketed shots to create an HDR, which turned out fairly well. I then flattened all layers and was going to use a high pass filter to add some sharpening. I thought the B&W looked so good that I began playing with that. In the end I had to save it as a tiff because everything else was blocked. Not sure where I went or what I did, but I do like the photo. Sorry, the picture did not make it, will try again later.
One possible answer could be that Tiffs allow 16 bits per channel whereas jpgs are only 8 bits per channel. If you convert back to 8 bits per channel you should have more save options.

Managed to save it as a JPG. I am not sure why the light area in the upper left is still there, I cloned and painted that out, and thought I had saved it afterward. Perhaps not though.
