I went back to the same lake and got these early morning images. the light was right and lends serenity.

I don't envy you having to cull some of these great shots for your book!! :-)
I have a hell of a time getting rid of anything but out of focus shots.
Very nice, thanks for sharing!!

Great shots!!! From all the beautiful shots I've seen you post, makes me wonder about moving to India - in my next life time!!! lol lol You do post some really nice photos tho.
Really like the shots. I would crop every one of them. Too much water and too centered. When croping move the birds closer to one of the cornors.
Well done....Excellent exposure and tonality...Agree with Philo's comments....Lovely work.
Let me know when the book comes out/pm. should be fantastic.
Thank you All for looking and your comments and appreciation.
Thanks Philo and Stevieboy for the cropping suggestions, must admit that I did try several approaches and found that the open-ness created by the neutrality of the water as a background as well as the subtle lighting made this choice of presenting the Grebe the most favourable.
I hasten to add that the spots in some of the images are not dust or oil on my D600's sensor!!!!

These are really beautiful. I love the stillness of the water.
