mrgreen: my name is DOUG and I live in a small town in the white mts. of Arizona called Show Low, founded in 1860.
At one time in 1965 I was a professional photographer, until I had 2 strokes, loosing some memory. Now I'm ready to start again so I figured start at the beginning and see if I can recoupe.
I have purchased a Canon EOS Elan 2e and a Canon AE-1Program.
Still have my old minoltas and nikon.
Well I raveled on enough, so until next time.
I'm too ugly for pictures!!!!!!!!!
Doug
Welcome, Doug. I'm sure you'll pick right up from where you left off. Sort of like riding a bicycle. Feel free to post some of your gems.

Wow - it's a small world! My Uncle Louis lived in Alpine for a number of years and we visited the big town of Show Low when we visited him. Hang in there - you can do it try. Louie

Hi! My name is Tiff and I live near Modesto, CA. I am a veteran, and at one point after my navy career was a photographer for Lifetouch NSS. I use photography as a grounding tool to help me cope with my PTSD. I'm not necessarily a beginner but I am always looking to acquire more skills to increase my abilities.
any comments or advice would be great to receive. Thanks, ergwin

Did you intend to post some pictures or are you looking for general comments of encouragement for a beginner (do wish people would check their spelling - says she, a cranky oldster). If it's the latter, I would suggest you get familiar with your camera first. Shoot as many different situations as you can find so you'll have an idea of the settings you need when you really want to take a picture of something specific. Get decent software to tweak the images you really like (noise, sharpness, color, tone) and have fun.

hey ergwin,,if you haven't gotten any--WELCOME..
if you could be more specific on what you need to know..
do you have a camera??
do you know how it works??
are you needing knowledge of what to buy??
do you just need more experience??
give me or anyone a specific question and we will do our best..
