Tried to tone down the bright sunlight without much luck, need to know more about HDR. Anyone else can give it a try and post.

You might be able to do some dodging on the layer that has the sun.

But like the prev comment, I really like this one EXACTLY like you have it!!

Beautiful shot. We had one at our photo club earlier this year that was majestic. The sunrise was further over to the right and he used a longer lens to magnify the washerwoman. He was further to the right also.

Anyhow I think there is much you can do with it; paticularly if you have the multiple exposures for HDR.

Here is just one adjustment example to bring out the colors in the foreground. I didn't try to do anything with the sun.

Was there a crowd when you took it?

(I do notice with this one a slight clockwise rotation might level the horizion better)

I didn't notice the tilt until you mentioned it, thanks I'll straighten it up. There were only 4 of us there at sunrise, then a bus load of people showed up.

That's great!

I understand it can be quite a crowd during the main vacation times. But we'll have to go for it anyway on one of our trips down there.

I am still learning to pay more attention to horizons. I have a new camera that can put a grid in the viewfinder and even has a level. Using it is another mattter...

It appears you darkened it. True, or what else?

I darkened parts of it and lightened other parts (the ocean caps) by using screen and multiply in CS5. Also used some vibrance and saturation. I lightened the sun drenched areas and used vibrance on that as well.
